[미국에서 하는 생생 영어강의] 가족 관계학 (Family Relationships)

Hi, 더운 플로리다에도 어느새 아침저녁으로 선선한 가을이 찾아왔네. 지난 주말엔 가족들을 두고 텍사스에 살고 있는 친구를 만나러 혼자 여행을 다녀왔어. 꺅~~~ 가족 없이, 일 아닌 진짜 나만을 위한 홀로 여행은 카이를 임신해서 뉴저지로 다녀왔던 여행이 마지막이었으니 무려 7년 만의 외출 ㅠ 텍사스 주에 있는 달라스 코리언 타운에서 맘껏 한국 음식도 먹고, 마사지도 받고, 한국 친구랑 수다도 엄청 떨고... 4박 5일간의 일정은 무척 빡빡했지만 에너지 잔뜩 안고 돌아와 행벅해 ㅋㅋ

오늘은 지난 학기에 강의를 했던 FAD2230 가족관계: 생애주기적 접근 (Family Relationships: A Lifespan Development Approach)를 소개해줄게. 현재 가르치고 있는 과목에도 "생애주기 (Lifespan)"라는 단어가 들어있어서 느낌이 비슷한데, 이 과목은 현대사회 가족의 변화를 생애주기적 관점에서 접근하는 과목이야. 이 과목은 인문학의 필수 과목으로도 인정이 되는 수업이라 정말 다양한 타전공 학생들이 수강하고 있어. 

 

강의 내용 목차:

이 수업은 Instructor가 다르더라고 Genogram Assignment라고 하는 동일한 과제를 제공해야 하는데, 우리 말로 풀면 "가족 관계도"라고 하면 될 것 같아. Part 1에서는 게노그램 소프트웨어나 파워포인트, 워드 파일, 아님 핸드라이팅으로 3대에 걸친 가족 관계를 그리고, Part 2에서는 각자 그린 가족관계도를 바탕으로 자신의 가족 구성원 간의 관계 및 세대 간 패턴이나 변화 등을 분석해 보는 것을 목표로 하는 과제야.  

 

Genogram Assignment: 
Students will complete a two part genogram assignment this semester. Details will be provided in Canvas.
• Part A. Genogram (15pts): This part of assignment requires you to use genogram software (or Microsoft words/PowerPoint or neatly hand draw) to complete a three generational genogram picture of your family.
• Part B. Written Analysis (55pts): This part of assignment requires you to prepare a paper that documents your analysis of family changes, patterns, and trends and provides explanations for these in light of class content related to family theories and lecture material.
